Cucumber for skin

You don’t have to worry anymore about moisturising your dry skin. Cucumber is an exceptional moisturiser. It hydrates dry skin quite efficiently, and can get rid of your swollen eyes and skin burns. Cucumber holds caffeic acid and vitamin C, which helps in soothing skin irritations by restraining water retention.

There are quite a few uses of cucumber for the skin. Let’s have a look at some of them.

Uses Of Cucumber For Skin

1. Cucumber for Face

A face mask is always a standard way to lighten up your face with freshness. The combination of cucumber and coconut oil can be your new go-to mask for every occasion!

The use of coconut oil in a face mask is crucial if you have dry skin. Coconut oil is antifungal and antibacterial and benefits our skin by making the skin free of dry flakes and soft.

Virgin coconut oil can hydrate your skin and lessen water loss.

Coconut oil for the skin is helpful due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It can soothe the irritation on the skin and help in reducing acne. To prepare a moisturising face pack, you will need half of a cucumber and one tablespoon of virgin coconut oil.

First, shred the cucumber, and add the coconut oil. Mix them well and apply the mixture all over your face and around your neck. Keep it on for 15 minutes, and then wash it off with cool and clean water.

Apply this simplest but effective face pack twice a week for the best result. It will make your skin glowy and soft.

2. To Remove Makeup

Cucumber is a top-notch makeup remover when mixed with coconut oil and castor oil. There are numerous cucumber benefits, but cucumber as a makeup removal is a relatively lesser-known hack to us.

To make this makeup removal mixture, take two tablespoons of coconut oil and one tablespoon of castor oil. Mix them well until the mixture becomes smooth, and then heat it for two minutes. Wait for the mixture to cool off. Then add cucumber juice to it. The texture and consistency of the liquid should be water-like. You can add two drops of lavender or rosemary oil for a soothing smell. Stir them well.

Then take a cotton pad and put a few drops of the mixture on it. Gently and smoothly rub the pad on your face. To remove eye-makeup, lightly rub with a cotton pad and leave it on for a few seconds before rubbing and removing it. You can store the mixture for future use in a small container.

Then, wash your face with another cleanser to achieve better cleansing.

3. Cucumber Toner

Use an all-natural skin toner to get rid of the specks of dust and to tighten your skin. To make this toner, you will need eight to ten slices of cucumber, ¼ cup of coconut milk, ¼  cup of coconut water. Mix all the ingredients and put them into a blender. Blend it till it reaches a smooth and light liquid-like consistency. Put this toner in an airtight container and store it in a refrigerator.

Wet a cotton pad with the toner and apply it all over your face and neck. Leave it on for a few minutes, and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After that, wash your face with cool and clean water and pat your face dry with a soft towel. Then apply your regular moisturiser and serum.

It minimises the appearance of pores on your face and gives polished and smooth skin.

4. Cucumber Lotion

Among the many benefits of cucumber on the skin, cucumber body lotion holds a special place. Coconut milk is essential for the skin if you want to maintain your skin’s flexibility and elasticity. Aloe vera has plenty of vitamins A, B12, C, and E. It is also rich in antioxidants which slow down the ageing of the skin.

To make this body lotion, you will need one cucumber juice, ¼ of a cup of coconut milk, and ¼ of a cup of aloe vera juice. Pour the cucumber juice into a jar with a lid, and then add the coconut milk and aloe vera. Shake the jar well to mix and store it in a refrigerator.

You can use a spray bottle to apply the lotion to your irritated skin areas. It will also help reduce dark eye circles, and the retinol and silica present in the lotion will help to regenerate the skin cells.
